Composition

Everything there is to know about the product’s targeted benefits

Avocado oil esters

Say goodbye to oily skin with our avocado oil esters!
The hormones in our body, in particular dihydrotestosterone, play a role in sebum production.
Avocado oil esters block 5α-Reductase enzyme activity, which in turn limits the production of those hormones and thus the synthesis of sebum, which we only really want is small doses.
These active ingredients therefore reduce excessive sebum secretions to help you say goodbye to oily skin!
We’ve selected esters from avocado oil, active ingredients of plant origin, with more than 95% purity. Their manufacturing process is in line with the principles of green chemistry.

Salicylic acid

Added to our formula at a 1% concentration, salicylic acid is not only well-known for fighting acne, but it also has excellent keratolytic properties.
What exactly does that mean? It means it exfoliates the epidermis, the outermost layer of your skin.
But don’t panic, it’s possible to exfoliate without irritating!
It’s a KEY step in your skincare routine because sebum and other debris accumulate in acne-prone skin, making it thicker and ultimately leading to the appearance of imperfections!
Used for over 2,000 years as a remedy for skin disorders, this active ingredient is naturally derived from meadowsweet and white willow. Our formula contains a synthetic form of salicylic acid for the highest level of purity and consistent quality, which means you can be sure of optimal efficacy and tolerance.
Salicylic acid is the subject of current debate due to its potential endocrine disrupting properties. What exactly does that mean? Salicylic acid is suspected to interfere with the way the endocrine system works and cause adverse effects in the bodies of exposed individuals and their descendants. Scientific evidence has proven the safety of this ingredient in cosmetics. To date, the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety, or SCCS, considers salicylic acid to be safe when used at a concentration below 2%.

Gluconolactone + silica beads

As a complement to the action of salicylic acid, we’ve added gluconolactone and silica beads for their keratolytic properties.
These natural beads are what make this product a success. Not only are they effective at exfoliating, but they’re also biodegradable, chemically inert and non-toxic for our oceans and rivers.
Derived from corn, gluconolactone is a naturally-occurring exfoliant belonging to the group of poly-hydroxy acids, or PHAs. Its ability to gently exfoliate and hydrate make it the ideal ingredient for effective cleansing without irritation.

Zinc and copper salts Natural asset

Cutibacterium acnes is well-known to be THE bacteria that wreaks the most havoc on acne-prone skin. Thankfully, zinc and copper salts, which are made in France from naturally-occurring plant and mineral sources, limit the proliferation of bacteria. No pity on acne!

Glucose + xylitol

And for even more goodness we’ve added glucose and xylitol, two plant sugars that replenish skin’s moisture to guarantee a soft, pleasant feel… without the weight gain of course!

Boswellia extract Natural asset

Our Boswellia extract of plant origin inhibits the factors implicated in inflammation and responsible for making skin feel irritated and tight. This soothing ingredient lets you reap the benefits of the product’s efficacy on a daily basis!
Did you know?: The Boswellia serrata tree comes from India and produces a precious resin called salai guggal. It was used in Ayurvedic medicine, a holistic approach to healing, as an ointment to treat inflammations.

Packaging information
hdpe
The product’s tube is made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic. It can be recycled with household plastic containers. Products are collected and transported to sorting centres then shipped to regeneration facilities. After treatment, the plastics are transformed into coloured pellets ready to be incorporated in new products we use in our everyday life such as watering cans, child car seats or watering hoses.
pao-6-moi
This symbol refers to the period after opening, or PAO, which identifies the useful lifetime of a cosmetic product once the package has been opened. In this case, it’s six months.
triman
New regulations have made this graphic symbol mandatory in France. What should you do with the tube once empty? Put the product in the recycle bin. Then what? The product will be recycled.

Frequently asked questions

Our experts answer your questions
What are the differences between Teen Derm Gel and Teen Derm Gel Sensitive?

Teen Derm Gel differs from Teen Derm Gel Sensitive by its:

• Silica microbeads that mildly exfoliate during your daily skin care
• Salicylic acid content, a keratolytic agent that reinforces the action of the beads to provide a smoother skin texture.
• Inadvisable for pregnant women

Teen Derm Gel is recommended for oily, acne-prone skin with limited imperfections.

Why is Teen Derm Gel not suitable for pregnant women?

The salicylic acid in its formula requires caution when used by pregnant and breastfeeding women. A tiny bit of the product can penetrate into the body when it is applied to the face, the issue being that it potentially has endocrine disrupting properties.

But there’s no reason to worry, even though salicylic acid is considered safe by scientific experts, we’ve taken no risks with your health, which is why we recommend pregnant women avoid the product.
